For instance, it might be used; or, it might be made by an obscure company. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s an inferior product. However, it certainly increases the chances of it being.

Used equipment is hit-or-miss. Some works great consistently while some breaks down consistently. Therefore, buying used equipment is a gamble, regardless of how cheap it is.

As far as buying from obscure companies goes, there’s nothing to base your purchase on. If the company hasn’t developed a reputation over years of business, it can be difficult to gauge whether or not it’s selling you something worthwhile.

This is particularly true if the company hasn’t received many reviews from past customers. At that point, you’re just shooting in the dark.
