Hoshizaki IM-65PE-25 Self-Contained Cube Ice Machine

The Hoshizaki IM-65PE-25 represents a major advancement in high-efficiency, under-counter ice-making technology designed for demanding Australian hospitality venues. Purpose-built to handle constant daily turnover, this next-generation commercial cube delivers an exceptional ice production capacity of up to 53kg of crystal-clear ice per 24 hours.

Optimised for commercial kitchens, busy bars, restaurants, and service areas, the IM-65PE-25 combines an efficient, space-saving layout with an intelligent, fully automated control system. Boasting an integrated 26kg storage bin, this versatile unit easily slots beneath or alongside standard counters to provide a seamless, sustainable ice supply that keeps pace with peak trading periods.

Why the Hoshizaki IM-65PE-25 is Australia’s Favourite Under-Counter Cuber

In high-output hospitality environments, managing utility costs while fulfilling strict sanitation mandates dictates daily profitability. The Hoshizaki IM-65PE-25 addresses these operational pressures directly by employing a unique closed-cell ice-making system powered by an energy-efficient variable-speed magnetic DC pump motor. By pumping fresh water into a sealed circuit for every single cycle and using eco-friendly R290 natural refrigerant, it slashes water and power waste while completely preventing airborne contamination.

Operational tracking and reliability are built directly into the front-facing user interface. The smart computer board technology manages water cycles automatically while integrated cleaning alerts provide clear performance notifications. To eliminate common installation and maintenance headaches, the unit features an automated cleaning program with wash auto-restart, ensuring maximum hygiene outcomes under high ambient conditions.

Versatile Hospitality Industry Use Cases

  • High-Volume Bars & Cocktail Lounges: Generates a substantial daily ice volume and maintains a large internal reserve to handle rapid drink production during busy weekend trading hours.
  • Cafés & Espresso Bars: The standard 25mm medium cube melts exceptionally slowly, ensuring premium cold brews, iced lattes, and blended drinks stay perfectly chilled without watering down flavour profiles.
  • Bistros & Large Restaurants: Fits smoothly into tight under-counter configurations behind front bars or inside kitchen prep lines to provide staff with instant ice access.
  • Executive Boardrooms & Function Venues: Operates with minimal ambient noise and features a dedicated standby mode, providing a sophisticated, self-contained ice source for VIP lounges.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: Does the IM-65PE-25 draw more power compared to the larger-cubed IM-65PE-28 variant?
A: Yes, slightly. Because forming standard 25mm cubes involves a higher number of individual freezing pockets than the larger 28mm cubes, the compressor cycles under different internal loads. This shifts the electrical consumption of the IM-65PE-25 to 305W, compared to the 290W configuration on the -28 version.

Q: How does the daily water consumption change based on the ambient venue temperature?
A: The machine is highly efficient but naturally uses more water to flush the system under extreme cold temperatures. In cold standard parameters (10°C Air / 10°C Water), it consumes 0.22m³ per 24 hours, which drops significantly to just 0.14m³ per 24 hours during typical operational settings (21°C Air / 15°C Water).

Q: Can this unit handle water pressure fluctuations inside old commercial buildings?
A: Yes. The machine is engineered to operate reliably across a broad water supply pressure range between 0.07 and 0.8 MPa (0.7 to 8 bar). If your location falls outside these thresholds, pairing it with an upstream pressure reduction valve or booster pump is recommended.

Q: What is the benefit of the food-grade stainless steel AISI 430 and AISI 441 construction?
A: The exterior is wrapped in robust AISI 441 stainless steel to handle the wear and tear of a physical kitchen environment. Crucial internal components are built out of food-grade AISI 430 stainless steel to maximize corrosion resistance, reduce mechanical wear, and maintain strict food safety hygiene.

Q: Is there an option to store the ice scoop somewhere other than on top of the fresh ice?
A: Yes. Hoshizaki offers an additional, optional Scoop Holder-Kit. This accessory mounts inside the unit to keep the handle separated from the active ice pile, supporting superior sanitary health standards for local food safety compliance audits.
